Recently I came upon a video material of one of Noam Chomsky's lectures that took place in Harvard University in February 2002.

My first impression on this lecture is that Chomsky, being a linguist, has built it on different pieces of official literature, mainly news papers' articles from the last two or three decades. He emphasises that the meaning of the word "terrorism" should not be derived from such official textual sources because if following US officials' logic we should define it like "everything which is thread is terrorism"; while terrorism, nowadays, became sponsored by certain counries against other countries thus becoming a key weapon in international relations.
